TreeCheckUp® Consulting Insurance Standard

Independent Arboricultural Consulting Services

Our Role

TreeCheckUp provides independent, third-party arboricultural consulting services for land development, community associations, and municipalities.

Our services are advisory only and may include:

  • Tree inventories and mapping
  • Condition and risk observations
  • Tree preservation and protection planning
  • Reporting and professional opinion

TreeCheckUp does not perform physical tree work, direct contractors, supervise construction activities, or control site safety.

Insurance Coverage Alignment

Our insurance program is structured to match this professional consulting scope and typically includes:

  • Commercial General Liability
  • Professional Liability (Errors & Omissions)
  • Workers’ Compensation (as required by law)

Certificates of Insurance are provided upon request.

Certificate Holder

Project entities may be listed as Certificate Holder for notification purposes only.
Certificate Holder status does not alter coverage or confer insured status.

Additional Insured (Limited)

Additional Insured status may be considered only when:

  • Required by written contract, and
  • Limited to claims arising directly from TreeCheckUp’s consulting services

Non-Applicable Provisions

The following provisions are not applicable to professional consulting services and are not accepted unless expressly negotiated:

  • Primary and Non-Contributory coverage
  • Blanket Additional Insured requirements
  • Waivers of Subrogation
  • Construction-level liability limits
  • Umbrella or Excess coverage unrelated to consulting risk
  • Language implying control of site safety, contractors, or means and methods

These provisions are intended for construction contractors and exceed the risk profile of advisory services.

Scope Exclusion — Personal Injury and Loss of Life

TreeCheckUp’s services are limited to independent arboricultural observation, analysis, documentation, and advisory recommendations. TreeCheckUp does not accept, and its services do not include, engagements involving personal injury or loss of life — including related claims, litigation, expert testimony, or causation analysis. Nothing in any TreeCheckUp report constitutes a guarantee or warranty of safety or of future tree performance, and reports must not be relied upon as such.

Professional Risk Principle

If TreeCheckUp does not control the work, TreeCheckUp does not assume contractor risk.
